Alaska Railroad Tour:
After your first night in Anchorage, board the Alaska Railroad for Seward and the Kenai Peninsula. Take a day cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park. Enroute, look for sea otters, sea lions, eagles, puffins and the occasional whale and dolphin.
The next day, take a close up and personal guided tour of Exit Glacier before continuing on to two days of guided bear viewing.
Return to Anchorage and board the Alaska Railroad again for Whittier and a breathtaking cruise through Prince William Sound among Alaska-sized ice cubes (glaciers).
Next, from Anchorage, head north to Talkeetna and a day of river rafting before continuing on to Denali National Park. Flight seeing; hiking and wildlife viewing in Denali may prove the most unforgettable part of this tour.
Take the Alaska Railroad north for a day and a half in Fairbanks, Alaska’s jewel of the interior. When you’re not exploring on your own, enjoy a riverboat tour along the Nenana River and a city historical tour.

Itinerary:
DAY 1: Arrive in Anchorage. Transfer to accommodations and overnight.
DAY 2: Travel by train from Anchorage to Seward. Take a day cruise through the Kenai Fjords National Park. Sea otter, sea lion, eagle, puffin have been seen on this tour. Look for whales and dolphins. Lunch will be served on the boat. Overnight in Seward.
DAY 3:
Optional tour:
- Guided tour to the Exit glacier. The walk to and around the face of the glacier is about 1 - 1.5 hours to get up close.
- You might also choose to walk the through this picturesque town and peek into the Alaska Sea Life Center (there is an entrance fee to visit beyond the gift shop.) Travel by train back to Anchorage. Transfer to accommodation.
DAY 4: Travel by train to Spencer Glacier with lunch served and a river rafting tour beginning in front of the glacier. Return by train back to Anchorage. Overnight.
DAY 5: Travel by train to Whittier. Continue by boat with an Alaska glacier tour into the Prince William Sound. A breathtaking adventure for sure. Return by train back to Anchorage. Overnight.
DAY 6: Day free in Anchorage for optional activities. Visit the museums, the shops, the restaurants, the local hiking trails or take an optional tour:
Day tours optional:
- Travel by helicopter to the glacier for a dogsled ride on the glacier
- Take a guided day tour to the Matanuska Valley, Alaska’s Farmland. Visit Hatchers Pass and the historic goldmine
- Go fishing! Take a floatplane to the fishing grounds with a guide. Gear will be available
DAY 7: Travel by train to Talkeetna. Fly over Denali National Park to see the wonder of Mt. McKinley, and, if weather permits, experience a glacier landing. Overnight in Talkeetna.
Day tours optional:
- “Raft and flag”. Raft from Talkeetna on the Susitna River. Return by train, which is “flagged” down for you to board!
DAY 8: Continue by train to Denali National Park. The rest of the day is free for hiking and exploring. Overnight just outside of Denali National Park.
DAY 9: Tour by bus through the park about 8 hours. Look for caribou, moose, and bears. Continue by train to Fairbanks. Overnight in Fairbanks.
DAY 10 & 11: 2 days in Fairbanks.
Optional tours:
- Tour the Nenana River by historic sternwheeler
- Take a city tour
- Visit Chena Hot Springs
DAYS 12: Transfer to the airport. Fly home from Fairbanks. Or continue with another Euro Alaska - Tours adventure!
