Alaska by Rail 
Board the Alaska Railroad for Seward and the Kenai
peninsula.
Boat through the Gulf of Alaska to Kenai Fjords National Park. Enroute, witness
sea otters, sea lions, eagles, puffins and the occasional whale and dolphin.
Take a close up and personal guided tour of Exit glacier before continuing on to
two days of guided bear viewing before returning to Anchorage to catch up on
your souvenir shopping.
Next, board the Alaska Railroad again for Whittier and a breathtaking cruise
through Prince William Sound and more Alaska-sized ice cubes (glaciers).
Head north now to Talkeetna and a day of river rafting before continuing on to
Denali National Park. Flightseeing, hiking and wildlife viewing in Denali may
prove the most unforgettable part of this tour.
All aboard for a day and a half in Fairbanks, Alaska’s jewel of the interior.
When you’re not exploring on your own, enjoy a riverboat tour along the Nenana
river and a city historical tour.
Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrive in Anchorage. Transfer to accommodation.
DAY 2: By train from Anchorage to Seward. By boat through the Gulf of
Alaska and the Kenai Fjord. Sea otter, sea lion, eagle, puffin can be seen on
this tour. Watch out for whales and dolphins. Lunch will be served on the boat.
Overnight in Seward.
DAY 3: Optional: Guided tour to the Exit glacier. The walk to the glacier
is about 1 - 1.5 hours to get up close. Optional: Visit the town and Sea Life
Center.
By train back to Anchorage. Transfer to accommodation.
DAY 4: Day tours optional:
- By helicopter to the glacier with landing. Dogsled ride on the glacier.
- Guided day tour to the Matanuska Valley. Alaska’s Farmland. Visit the
Hatchers Pass and the goldmine.
- Guided day tour with the four wheeler in the wilderness.
- Fishing in Alaska. By floatplane to the fishing grounds. With guide. Gear will be available.
DAY 5: By mini van to Whittier. We will stop at Girdwood, Alyeska’s
Ski area, Big Game and the Portage Glacier. Continue by boat with an Alaska
glacier tour through the Prince William Sound. A breathtaking adventure. Return
by train back to Anchorage. Overnight.
DAY 6: Day on your own in Anchorage. Visit the museum, the shops.
Optional: Day tour by train to Spencer glacier. Rafting also available.
DAY 7: By train to Talkeetna. Flight over Denali National Park and Mt.
McKinley. If weather permits – with optional glacier landing. Optional: Raft and
flag. Raft from Talkeetna on the Susitna river. Return by train which they flag
down. Overnight in Talkeetna.
DAY 8: Continue by train to Denali. The rest of the day on your own.
Overnight outside of Denali park.
DAY 9: By bus through the park. It will take 6 hours. Watch out for
caribou, moose, bears. Continue by train to Fairbanks. Overnight.
DAY 10 & 11: 2 days in Fairbanks. Optional tours: by sternwheeler on the
Nenana River, city tour, Chena Hot Springs. Overnight.
DAYS 12: Flight back home from Fairbanks or continue on another tour.
