Alaska & Canada by Automobile - 21 Days 
After an overnight rest in Anchorage, head due north to
the
Matanuska-Susitna for a night before continuing on to Denali National Park. Take
a bus tour through the park and home of Brown Bears, Caribou, Moose, Eagles,
Fox, Dall Sheep, just to name a few. Next, head up to Fairbanks - your jumping
off point to a relaxing Chena Hot Springs visit and a tour of the 44-acre
Alaskaland Historical Pioneer Park.
Next, take the Top of the World Highway to Dawson City, Canada, the heart of the
great Klondike Gold Rush. Drive south to Skagway, Alaska, where you can take an
optional railroad trip over the famous gold rush era, Chilkoot Pass.
Head south to the Kenai Peninsula and the fishing port of Seward. While in
Seward, take a glacier cruise in the Gulf of Alaska and walk to the face of one
of the Kenai Peninsula's most popular attractions, Exit Glacier. Continuing
south down the peninsula, visit a Russian Orthodox Church before arriving in the
quaint fishing port of Homer. Optional Halibut charters and bear viewing tours
are available.
Wrap this dream tour up by visiting the Alyeska resort and trying your hand at
gold panning before returning to Anchorage. Explore Alaska's largest city, shop
for last minute souvenirs, or simply rest.

Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrive in Anchorage. Pick up the rental car. Drive to Matanuska
Valley, Alaska’s Farmland. Overnight in cabins.
DAY 2: Day at Hatchers Pass. Visit the goldmine. Great area for hiking.
DAY 3: Drive to Talkeetna, a quaint little town where Mt. McKinley
climbers fly to the base. Denali sightseeing flight. An unforgettable
experience. Optional: Make a glacier landing. Continue to Denali. 2 nights.
DAY 4: Optional: Denali Tour, a scenic bus tour into the Park. Watch for
bears, caribou and moose. Optional: Flight through the park.
DAYS 5 & 6: To Fairbanks. Sightseeing around Fairbanks. Optional: Chena
Hot Springs; Alaskaland; University of Alaska Museum. Overnight.
DAY 7: Leave Fairbanks going South along the Richardson Highway. If
weather permits, the Alaska Range and Mount Saint Elias can be seen. Continue on
to Tok. Overnight.
DAY 8: Take the Taylor Highway to visit Chicken on the way to Dawson
City, Yukon Territories. This area is beautiful. Start out early to have enough
time for the Top of the World Highway. On this day you cross the border from
Alaska to Canada (Passport required). 2 nights in Dawson City.
DAYS 9: Dawson City. Pan for gold and visit the famous Diamond Tooth
Hall.
DAY 10: Drive to Whitehorse. Overnight at the Capital City of the Yukon
Territories.
DAY 11: Drive to Skagway, Alaska. 2 nights in this quaint little gold
rush era town. Visit the museum.
DAY 12: Take the White Pass Train – Chilkoot train. An unforgettable
train ride.
DAY 13./14: Drive along the Alaska Highway to Haines Junction. Great area
for hiking and outdoor activities. 2 nights.
DAY 15: Drive to Tok. Overnight.
DAY 16: Continue to Glennallen and along the Glennallen Highway to the
Chalets for overnight. They have a view of the Matanuska Glacier.
DAY 17: Drive on to Homer. Along the way, stop in the small town of
Ninilchik to see the Russian Orthodox church. 3 nights in Homer.
DAY 18: Optional tours:
- Halibut fishing.
- By water taxi to the other side of the bay.
- By floatplane to the coast of Katmai. Bear viewing.
DAY 19: Day tour. By boat to Seldovia. A quaint little town which can
only be reached by boat or plane.
DAY 20: Drive to Seward. Visit Exit Glacier. 2 nights in Seward.
DAY 21: Day tour by boat through Kenai Fjords National Park and the Gulf
of Alaska. Sea lions, sea otters, puffins and eagles can be seen on this tour.
Lunch will be served on board. Drive back to Anchorage. Overnight.
DAY 22: Return car. Transfer to the airport. Flight back home or continue
another tour.
