Spend your first enjoying the sites and sounds of Alaska's largest city -
Anchorage, before driving south down the
Kenai Peninsula. Watch for Dall sheep and Beluga whales along the way. Your four
days on the Kenai Peninsula includes a full day glacier and wildlife viewing
cruise from Seward through Kenai Fjords National Park and into the Gulf of
Alaska. Sea Lions, otters, eagles and puffins abound (not to mention glaciers).
Spend two nights in the artsy fishing town of Homer. Optional day tours out of
Homer include bear viewing in Katmai National Park.
Turn north now to Girdwood - another artsy Alaskan town at the foot of Mount
Alyeska.
Continue north to the Matanuska Valley. Visit a working Musk Ox farm and
Hatchers Pass with its historic gold mine (now a museum), before continuing
north to Talkeetna and a flight over North America's highest peak - Mt. McKinley
in Denali National Park. Spend your non-flying time hiking, walking, or enjoying
an optional helicopter landing or dogsled ride on a glacier.
Drive to Anchorage for 2 nights before boarding the Alaska Railroad south to Whittier and Prince William Sound for a spectacular glacier viewing cruise.
Return to Anchorage before heading home or continuing on another tour.
Alaska by Automobile Tour - 14 Days
After an overnight rest in Anchorage, head north to the Matanuska Valley.
Visit Hatchers Pass with its historic gold mine (now a museum),
before driving north to the high tundra of Tangle Lakes and spend a couple of
days hiking the hills, kayaking the 25-mile long Tangle Lake, and exploring this
archeologically rich area.
Continue on to Glenallen before arriving for a two-night cabin stay in the ghost town of Chitina. As an optional excursion, you can park your car and board a small plane for the trip to McCarthy/Kennicott in the Wrangell-St. Elias mountains.
Head south to the Kenai Peninsula and the fishing port of Seward. While in
Seward, take a glacier cruise in the Gulf of Alaska and walk to the face of one
of the Kenai Peninsula's most popular attractions, Exit Glacier. Continuing
south down the peninsula, visit a Russian Orthodox Church before arriving in the
quaint fishing port of Homer. Optional Halibut charters and bear viewing tours
are available.

Alaska & Canada by Automobile Tour - 21 Days
After an overnight rest in Anchorage, head due north to the Matanuska-Susitna
for a night before continuing on to Denali National Park. Take a bus tour
through the park
and home of Brown Bears, Caribou, Moose, Eagles, Fox, Dall Sheep, just to name a
few. Next, head up to Fairbanks - your jumping off point to a relaxing Chena Hot
Springs visit and a tour of the 44-acre Alaskaland Historical Pioneer Park.
Next, take the Top of the World Highway to Dawson City, Canada, the heart of the
great Klondike Gold Rush. Drive south to Skagway, Alaska, where you can take an
optional railroad trip over the famous gold rush era, Chilkoot Pass.

When you’re not exploring on your own, enjoy a riverboat tour along the Nenana
river and a city historical tour.
Start this Alaskan adventure immediately after flying from Anchorage to
Kotzebue. Up arrival in Kotzebue, board an authentic bush plane
for
the flight to Kiana. From here, it’s only a one half hour river boat ride to a
beautiful lodge along the Kobuk River, approximately 30 miles north of the
Arctic Circle.
While at this gateway to Kobuk Valley National Park, see a geological relic of
the last ice age, the huge and actively moving, Great Kobuk sand dunes. Next,
visit an important early Native American archaeological site believed to show
evidence of pre-Kobuk Valley people from around

the long history of native peoples in this area.

Railroad to Fairbanks.
